well check

Kate had her 18 month doctor appointment yesterday (at 19 months old...I was a tad late.) She is now 21.5 pounds and 30 inches long. I was all proud all day long that she had gained 3 pounds. Then in bed Ron pointed out that 19 "something" to 21.5 is NOT 3 pounds. I swear my mind is going to mush!!!!  Now I can't even remember what percentile she is....I think her weight is the 10th percentile now and her height is the 5th percentile. Both are up from what they were at her last visit.

She got 2 shots and also her TB test. She was NOT happy at all....poor thing. The funniest part was she thought the band aids they put on her were the offenders, and wanted them off immediatly. So when Kim (the nurse) left the room I took them off and threw them in the garbage can. Kate was straining to see into the garbage can until we left, silly girl. I just kept telling her they were gone.

She seems back to normal today.

She is walking more and more. She still prefers crawling, mainly because it is easier and faster for her.

Yesterday she pulled a cup of water off the kitchen table. And she grabbed a spoon out of a cup of tapioca pudding, then proceded to dump the cup of pudding onto the floor. She also cleared a whole row of books off of our bookshelf in our dining room.

I would say she has joyfully burst into her 19th month. I'm not sure being more mobile is that great of a thing!!!! :)

I remember when our youngest made it onto the growth charts! He's now firmly at the 15th percentile and it's not so much of a struggle (despite his fear of vegetables). Praying that your child flourishes even more. . . I know when I look at my children it's amazing what God has done!
