I am amazed to say this week I will have had Quinn for three months!! It seems like we have had her with us forever! She definitely has blended right into our family.
One of these days I need to take some pictures of my house. People would be truly shocked. It is a disaster. Pretty much all the time. I cannot seem to get a grip on things. I will work all morning and it seems like I've done nothing.
You know that saying "cleaning with kids is like shoveling when it's snowing." I always hated that. But now it's true!!!
And I *try* really hard to say "I'm so thankful for THIS ENTIRE KITCHEN full of dishes....we have food to eat and dishes to eat on."
Or "I'm so thankful for these TEN baskets of laundry to wash (or put away) we have (ample) clothing to wear."
It just is never done! Ever! This morning I spent the entire morning putting all the clean dishes away, loading the dishwasher, handwashing a bunch of dishes.
Then we had lunch.
UGH.
The kitchen was a disaster all over again.
And, really, people would DIE if they saw the boys laundry hamper. I swear they don't even use the hamper. They just throw their clothes AT the hamper. We have it downstairs next to our chest freezer. Sometimes there are *so many* clothes from the three boys you can't even see the hamper. It is just ridiculous. I'm at least glad it is down where I can't see it.
School?
Well. They are doing school.
I am attempting to remember we just went through an international adoption. Which would be considered a pretty traumatic event for most families.
My family? Yeah. They are like.....hey cool, another Chinese kid. Can we have a snack? How about netflix? Could we do the x-box?
Not impressed.
So, I'm kind of floating here on my own. Adjusting to the whole thing. I need to get them on board with helping. Ron hung a dry erase board for me, back before school started. Now I need to actually use it for assigning jobs on a job chart.
And I need to not care how laundry is put away in their drawers.
I am getting a lot better about dishes. I figure....if they can find it to use it, they must be able to put it away. Right?
So, that's where we are. Living in a disaster of a house as mom attempts to figure out how the heck to keep up with everything.
Next up.....food.
I think they are getting sick of cereal for breakfast (and dinner) all the time.
:)
