another snow day!!!

We have had more snow...again!!

Ron had another snow day today. We are so over snow days, we didn't even care. We spent some time today contemplating appreciating snow days and a job, since the current atmosphere in Columbus and maybe no job.....or one at half or a third of the pay next year. Amazing how nothing is really secure, even when you think it is. I was always glad Ron was a teacher because it was a nice, safe job. Now to ponder losing not just a job, but retirement, healthcare, the whole package, and at the hands of the political party I've always so staunchly supported. Ick.

Onto brighter things......

Kate had her follow up doctor's appointment yesterday. Dr. Zimmer is very happy with her thumb and how it is healing. She will probably have another surgery at some point.....like in years. He wants her thumb to grow and be strong. He also wants her to have full range of movement. She was not happy to be at the hospital or at the dr's office. I tried to keep telling her the dr was just going to look at her hand and not do anything to her. She fussed for a bit, but was ok when he actually came in. She even held her hand out for him to look at.

Today I went to Sam's and got the shopping done for church. Then I did our shopping. The roads were not that great, but we have a busy weekend so it needed to be done.

Regan is working on her spelling/phonics. She is a "challenged" reader. I want to poke my eyes out. She keeps insisiting the word "sleep" is "skip."  ??????  I know I need to just keep plugging along, but it is SO hard. Especially when she was supposed to have had this work done HOURS ago.

hang in there! we'll be praying. carl was laid off years ago, that's why we moved here. two years ago our income was cut almost in half, we made it through. it's amazing what you can live on when you have to.

I was out shopping yesterday, too, but was not brave enough to head to Sam's. Aldi and Walmart fit the bill!

Lydia (almost 10) finally got the hang of reading this week! We are 'better late than early' thinkers on reading, but it does get a little nerve wracking the older they get. I pray she shows a boon of progress this week for your, and her, encouragement.
