kinda slow week

I need to write enough posts to bump the yukky pictures of our basement off the main picture of the blog! Ron's dad finished putting the trim down on Monday. Now we can have the padding and carpet installed. Then we will have the carpet cleaned again. Then we can move the boys back in their rooms....yay!!! We are waiting for the carpet guy to call us and let us know when he is available. It might not be until next week. That is fine....we are so used to living like this now, we aren't really in that big of a hurry.

Mitchell seems to be sick. I am thinking he has strep, and I am going to try to get him into the dr today.

We didn't do anything special for Kate's first "gotcha" day. We were home all day. Ron started working at the camp this week. He got home just as I left to take Mitchell to gymnastics, so we didn't even all eat dinner together (which was just spaghetti...so not much of a great dinner.)

Regan, Mason, and Jack all had gymnastic in the afternoon on Tuesday. They just told me they are some of the only kids doing "Star Watch" in their class. Great. After I told Ron I was "certain" all the kids were doing it. I should have known better....they are homeschoolers....of course they wouldn't be doing it!!! I should have known better! I guess I should have asked....I guess I just kind of thought people might want to participate in something, since they don't really have things available for their kids through a "school" activity. Oh well.....we've done "Star Watch" before, and I know there will be plenty of other kids there.

I have been trying to find something for Mitchell, and possibly Mason to participate in (academic) once a week for next school year. I do not want to do a co-op....like East Side or Deut.6.  I just looked over the Grace School (in Kirtland) yesterday. That is too many days a week. I just want something where they go and can do something to learn some accountablility to someone else (and I maybe can not be on them all the time.) I had thought there was something in Middlefield/Clairdon/Huntsburg.....but maybe it didn't take off.  I do not want to have to go myself and devote an entire day....I just do not have the time. And I do not want them to go every day. I'd just like them to go once a week....twice at the most...for maybe a writing class, or math class...or art.....or maybe all of those.

Kids are slowly getting up here.....and looking hungry. Little Miss Kate already helped herself to noodles in a pyrex dish in the fridge this morning :)

I've washed Kate's clothes she came to us in and we are going to try them on her today.....we'll see how much she's grown. I think she'll still fit in them. Nai Nai says "no way!"  :)

Hannah still fit her Gotcha Day clothes one year later but the little pants that were baggy in 2009 were definitely capris in 2010! :o)

Congratulations on 1 year together as a family!
