quiet week

It has been a disappointingly quiet week here at the Cole house.

We passed the 50 day mark in our LOA wait with no fanfare at all. When we "logged-in" to China we were told "this" is the "sweet spot" and we should expect LOA right about now.

However, things have continued to slow down, for no reason at all, other than they just have. People are getting their LOA's at 80, 90, and 100+ days. There is no rhyme or reason. I was optimistically hoping to travel in August, but as May is slipping by, I am feeling the sinking feeling that it may be September, and we may be celebrating Quinn's second birthday with her......or may MISS her second birthday altogether.

On other topics......

Regan and Mason are going to Kids Camp with our church this weekend. They are VERY excited. The weather looks to be *beautiful* so I think they should have a great time. I need to make sure I pack them some sunscreen!!

I finished BSF this week. I am absolutely amazed at how quickly the year passed. Next year we will do Genesis. We found out on Wednesday that BSF will be adding a new study in 2014-2015....Revelation. I may never get through all the studies at this rate!! They keep adding new ones and messing up the rotation! That's ok, I love BSF.

Mitchell has gymnastics tryouts on Saturday afternoon. I am assuming he will move up a level this year. I don't think it will really change anything other than skills, I believe his time commitment will remain the same.

Next week Mason and Mitchell are doing the Stanford Achievement Test on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. I am totally freaked about that. We have not done standardized testing at all. Ever. I think I will have Ron look over the results when they arrive and just not tell me about them.

I am an analyzer and if they test poorly it will drive me bonkers. It won't matter that they have never done a standardized test before, or that they might not "get" what they are doing, or any of the other factors. I'll just think I'm a dismal failure. The only reason they are doing this is because of the whole "Mason going to school thing." And I'm 95% sure that isn't even going to happen this year. I should never have signed them up for testing!!!!

I am going to be doing a homeschooling mom's bible study this summer. I am looking forward to it. Thankfully the books are at the post office. I have been totally stressing out for 2 days that they would be left on our front steps and the dog would eat them! I need to go get them today.

Hey thanks for the update. I am in BSF, also. I hadn't heard about the Revelations study. Wow. Tough. I know it will be good for me, but HARD. Were you in the Isaiah? I found that one to be quite difficult. I was planning on sticking around and redoing it when it rolled around again. At this rate I will be a senior citizen!
