Wednesday in nanjing

Tuesday Quinn Anne Shen Mu became an official Cole. I had to go with her early to the Civil Affairs office to do all the paperwork. When you get the child you actually have 24 hours to decide if you want to complete the adoption, then you go do the adoption the next day.

I took Quinn to the restaurant all by myself to feed her before we went. It actually went pretty well.
She hates riding in the car. She does ok if it's not moving, but if it moves she starts crying.
She had no interest in Ms Tang at all, which really wasn't that surprising, since she didn't care for her. But when Ms Tang tried to take her Quinn turned into me, which was a positive, considering she hadn't really been liking me much!
When I got back we took them out into the mall and got a muffin and scone at the Starbucks. Kate was Kate... Need I elaborate?? My tea had disgusting foam on top of it, which Kate taught Quinn to eat with a spoon. I can see where this is headed.....
We then successfully found the grocery store in the basement of the mall and bought some things we needed. I even paid without annoying the cashier to badly with my poor Chinese money skills.
For the afternoon the girls napped. Quinn does not fuss when she wakes up, she makes no noise at all, so I have to check on her.
We went back to papa johns for dinner. I have never eaten there at home, I couldn't even tell you where one is. But here the girls sure chow down on the pasta!
Quinn got a bath. She did not seem phased at all. She more didn't like the towel afterward.
She went to bed easily. Then woke around midnight. Making one squeak and silently crying in the crib. She kind of sucks her arm and has the saddest huge eyes. She let me bring her in with me and slept very restlessly the rest of the night.
Today she is a Velcro baby. Only I can do things for her. Huge switch from yesterday. I put her down for her nap and she wanted nothing to do with the crib. So she is on the bed surrounded by pillows.
Kate is doing ok. A little less hitting. Hasn't bitten yet. Ate a whole plate of pasta with a fork alone at papa johns and put her shoes on all alone this morning.
And she went up to Quinn while I was getting ready to go to breakfast and said "sorry hit Mu". Then she swatted at her. I guess I can only expect so much!! :)
I was glad she said she was sorry for hitting. Not so glad she followed it up with another hit! She isn't hitting that hard and misses her mark a lot of the time. It's good we brought her to get her used to this big change in our family.
Quinn eats like crazy. She hands us her food. I've been redirecting her hand back to her mouth. I'm hoping she gets the idea that she can put the food in her mouth, I don't have to. She will only play with one toy at a time and hands the other to whoever is near her. She has absolutely been taught to share, kind of to an extreme.
There is not even a comparison between the two girls adoptions. I wish I knew more about Kate's background. She didn't do any of the types of things Quinn is doing. It isn't bad. It is just different.

Glad to hear things are going well. Quinn handing you food to feed her is really a very good thing as you hand feeding her is a huge help in working on attachment. It involves eye contact, physical contact, trust and so much more.
Praying for all of you.
