Well....last night I believe the "Troupmobile" may have bit the dust. The Troupmobile is our "extra" car. It was given to us by Mr. Troup, a retired teacher who Ron worked with for much of his teaching career. Ron took care of Mr. Troup for 13 years, as his health declined and he faced many health issues (heart attacks, leg amputation.) As his health declined he decided to give his car to us. It was a blessing to us for a long time. As of late is hasn't been much of a blessing and we have been trying to decide what to do with it. It is a 2000 Grand Marquee, and it has needed *something* done to it just about every month for the last 6 months. When that starts to happen to a vehicle you really need to think about parting ways!!
So last night I was out with Mitchell and Mason, doing our usual activity runs when, I believe, the end occurred!! We dropped off Mitchell at gymnastics in Mayfield and were headed toward basketball at Kenston when a ball bearing broke and the front driver tire blew out. It was fast, loud, and made sparks!!
Thankfully I pretty much knew what happened immediately so I didn't freak out or anything. And there are LOTS of praises in the whole incident.
1. We were on Lander Road NOT 271. (only going about 35 and not 70!)
2. Three people came to ask if we needed anything right away.
3. We have AAA.
4. It is an extra vehicle not our main vehicle.
5. Ron came and the timing worked out that we were able to get the kids to all their activities and the car towed without any issues.
6. I only had Mason with me and no little girls!
We have not heard yet about the extent of the damage. We are pretty sure we are not going to repair it though. We do think we are just done with it. It has definitely been nice to have an extra car to keep the miles down on the van. But, it is to the point now where we are putting money into the car all the time to keep it running....which just makes no sense.
So....bummer! RIP Troupmobile.....you were fun while you lasted!
And thank you God for watching out for us!!
