I can hardly believe Jack turned 9 years old! It does not seem like 9 years has gone by at all. It certainly makes me feel bad....of all the kids I feel like I totally missed out on him growing up.
Homeschooling has allowed him to prolong childhood....a lot. He still loves Thomas the Tank engine, to the point of his older siblings beginning to complain. He still builds elaborate tracks in our basement out of the wooden Thomas track. And he actually asked for, and received another battery operated engine for his birthday. If he were in school I am sure this love would be long gone.
He also loves Super Mario. He wanted a stuffed Mario for his birthday. Now he wants all the other stuffed characters (much to the dismay of his siblings.) He bounces Mario around the house making all kinds of "movies" in his head (actually aloud.) Yesterday he was filming the "movie" with the leap pad.
I'm glad he does these things. Childhood is much, much to fleeting in our society today. I'd rather innocence linger for awhile longer........
