Day Two***Life in a Big Family

Made it to Day Two....yippee!! Sunday.

Our Sunday's are pretty much always the same. I kind of hate how they start, I have to be up by 6 and get right in the shower (yuk.) It is the earliest I have to get up all week and I hate it. I also never get right into the shower, I normally sit around, have tea, and wake up for at least and hour, so going right from the warm bed to the shower is not my idea of a great start!

I leave with Mitchell by 7:30 (in theory.) We used to leave at that time, now that there are fewer people in our church I have gotten lazy and am leaving later and later. Today I left at 7:50.

Some weeks I take more kids with me, it just depends on my mood....like if I want to listen to them talk incessantly to me!

Ron brings the rest of the kids with him for the 9:00 service. I do get out clothes for the little girls. Otherwise the rest of the kids feed and dress themselves. Ron feeds the babies. Regan helps Ron get them dressed if she is home with him.

We have been doing this for  about 8 years now (since Jack was about a year and a half.) It has worked for us. Ron takes kids home after the first service.

Now some kids are staying for both services since we do have middle and high schoolers. And we also have a child who serves in "Joyful Noise," which is a children's praise group in our church.

Today, after church, Ron's dad came over from Conneaut and we went to lunch with him. We ate at the Maple Leaf Restaurant in Chardon. Since we ate in Chardon we were the object of stares when we arrived. Having more than 3 kids and 2 not being white......you know...."weird" and all. Then we prayed before we ate. Some guys behind us actually said something about not being at church.

I think either I see Chardon with different eyes now that I am older, or Chardon has changed in the last several years.

Mitchell and Mason walked home from the restaurant. I am not sure why, other than they just wanted something to do. It wasn't that far.....probably 2.5 miles or so. They probably cut through someplace I don't know about.

Ron took his dad out to Camp Wise to show him around where he has been working for the last few summers. Then he took Mason over to Blair and Tracy's to watch the Brown's game.

He worked on cleaning the catalytic converter for the woodstove.

I am not sure what I did during all of this......watched the girls I guess. Neither napped today, so it was a pretty full contact watching the girls day. By bedtime there was A LOT of screaming going on!!!

So.....busy day, but kind of boring. It was good to see Ron's dad. We do not see him nearly as often as we should.
