I am falling behind!!! We have had a Friday and Saturday. What has been going on??
Friday we worked on school work in the morning. I am trying to get Jack accustomed to doing his assignments from an assignment book. He is not quiet getting the concept yet. What I do is write out the assignments for the week in a notebook, then the child comes to me as needed with his work. Up until now I have given Jack work, not assigned it in a big block. So he is just not getting the whole, "look at the day, read number one, do the assignment, read number two, do the assignment." He is just grabbing any book he feels like doing and then doing three or four pages. It is a tad frustrating. And if you know Jack at all, he isn't responding to correction that great. So, Friday morning I attempted to explain the assignment book AGAIN. And also explain that by 9 years old he should be doing some school work not just playing legos and Angry Birds all day. It went a little better.
I took Mitchell to gamestop to get some game he had pre-ordered a few months ago. It was a game I did not have to go in with him to pick up and I did not have to give him any money, so I was good with the whole thing.
Friday night I took Mitchell, Mason and Regan to a Teen Night Halloween Party for our homeschool co-op. They seemed to have a lot of fun. I actually did not see them at all once we got there. Today Ron asked how the party went, and I had to say it was one of the best parties I have been to. The kids were excellent. I don't think there were any issues at all, at least none that came to my attention. They were not loud, wild, or rude. Everyone seemed to get along. They entertained themselves. They did not make a mess. They were respectful of the home they were in. It was an overall very positive experience.
Today, Saturday, was football for Jack and Mason. Next week are their last games. I feel bad that I've only gone to one game this season. However, the games are right in the middle of Mitchell's gymnastics practice, and the girls are kind of a pain at the games.
Mitchell had gymnastics from 12-4. That always shoots the entire day for him.
We had cake for Jack's birthday tonight since we will not be home Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday to celebrate and his birthday is on Wednesday. Regan made the cake for him. She is getting to be quite the baker! She also made an apple cake to take to the teen night last night.
Kate and Quinn have had 2 pretty uneventful days. We went into Target today to get a few things. Kate had a GREAT shopping trip. She didn't hit, bite, pinch, or grab anyone. She also didn't pull anything off the shelf or throw anything out of the cart. It was a very positive shopping trip for her.
Quinn, on the other hand, stood up in the seat of the shopping cart and tried to reach something on the top shelf while I had my back to her. I about had a heart attack when I saw her!!!! Needless to say I buckled her securely in after that little trick!!!
